Summary: The challenge was to migrate two major data centres (inclu: apps and databases) into AWS, which included complex testing and rollout of critical customer systems. Thus, the project required transparent reporting to senior directors and a project roadmap that the team could follow.
Achievements / Day to Day:
    • Lead 17 person dev-ops team that was a combination of permanent, contract and offsite resource
    • Coached permanent dev-ops members on agile practices and principles
    • Implemented clear visible plan for delivery that did not exist prior to my arrival
    • Organised dev-ops team into sub-teams to amplify focus which led to an increased velocity by over 10%
    • Utilised JIRA to deliver project work and reporting
    • Provided JIRA walkthrough/training for lead devs
    • Led daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, monthly roadmap meetings and steering groups
    • Organised decommission plan for data centre
