This role was to steer the development of the website (Magento). This included analysis of the site fuctionality and content, specificaton and design of develpment to improve conversion and planning additional functionality to facilitate international expansion. My responsibilities also covered management of a small team of content and merchandising executives to oversee and advise on daily maintenance of content and products.
Managing and implementing front-end coding change and development for a variety of SME eCommerce clients on the Magento platform. Clients included: ESPA, Gov UK, Hawkins Bazaar, Clintons, Daily Mail, Slendertone, Royal Academy.
6 Month Fixed Term Contract Seven month contract within the marketing department. I managed a large team of ten front end developers based offshore and in the UK offices. My responsibilities included planning and development of existing Tesco websites, especially the F&F clothing site. I additionally had ownership of merchandising for all Tesco digital channels, ensuring a world class customer experience for Tesco customers.
Oversaw all aspects of design, user experience and frontend development to ensure best practice client side coding standards, usability and accessibility are implemented in new builds, and provide heuristic usablity recommendations for existing clients.
Managed a team who were responsible for the maintenance of websites for pcworld.co.uk, dixons.co.uk and currys.co.uk, the production of landing pages, marketing emails, affiliate assets and site graphics on the existing web platform, producing a weekly suite of business analytics to measure R.O.I. performance.
Managed the front-end team at Avis; multi functional code & design, creating user interfaces, primarily for web, but also other applications and support systems developed within the department. The prime responsibility was taken for creation of the presentation layer and accessibility of European Avis & white label websites.
Led the design and front-end coding of the new website, working closely with developers to created the award winning website experience initially on johnlewis.com, then across affiliated sites for Peter Jones, Waitrose wines, Waitrose flowers and more.
1. Online ManagerCreation of schemas and project plans for online site building and expansion including the graphical and functional design of the Tower Records online presence from inception to trading. Providing direction and training for the team of production staff plus managing third party partners and delivering assets to them within pre-defined timescales. Implementation of internet access stations within Tower retail stores and subsequent maintenance of these facilities. 2. Head of the Art Department (UK, Eire & Middle East)Responsibility for design teams covering the UK, Eire and Israel, that produced custom-made merchandising POS and store signage to tight deadlines.
